Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that includes elements of combat, dance, acrobatics and music. In practice, it is a combat game that puts ingenuity, quick wit, and resourcefulness ahead of brute force and hostility. It is one of the fastest growing martial arts in the world, enabling men, women and children to express themselves and discover talents within themselves.
Why Capoeira? Our training is a natural learning process for a child. We strive to get not just a person who is good at doing capoeira movements, but a person who is comprehensively developed and knows how to correctly apply his skills. Good general physical fitness and the development of coordination are essential links in training. Due to this, health is strengthened; strength, flexibility, speed, endurance and agility are developing and improving; the range of motor skills expands and the functional capabilities of the organism increase.
The role of music in capoeira is unique: it is not just a sound background for training, capoeiristas themselves play the instruments and sing. In the classroom, children learn to sing, play percussion instruments and train a sense of rhythm and movement to music. Singing has been successfully used in the treatment of speech disorders in children and adults and helps to develop an ear for music and improve diction. Moreover, learning songs in a foreign language stimulates mental activity and memory.
